About

The aim of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Digital Humanities and Social Sciences (IZdigital) at FAU is to bring together research interests from all departments and faculties of the University in the interdisciplinary field of digital humanities and social sciences in one centre of expertise and communication and to contribute to promoting digital humanities and social sciences at FAU. It does so mainly by supporting and organising joint events and projects related to research, teaching and further training.

IZdigital is a member of the tēchné campus network for digital humanities and social sciences and cooperates with various non-university institutions in the region. It is represented in national and international institutions and research networks via its members.

Supporting young researchers is a key objective of IZdigital. It provides a platform for presenting and discussing projects, exchanging information between members and experts and for promoting workshops and conferences.

IZdigital has been responsible for a Bachelor’s degree programme since winter semester 2016/17 and a Master’s degree programme since winter semester 2019/20.
